The launch of the VIOFO A329S Series has brought a wave of interest and conversation. We know that you got some questions in the new product before deciding if it’s right for you. That’s why we’ve prepared 20 FAQs about A329S Series dash cam.
A: The A329S Series supports 3-channel recording and offers optional modules including infrared fisheye cabin camera, telephoto camera, and waterproof camera. It also introduces a new parking mode—low power impact detection, and a video multiplexing feature.
A: The A329S Series is available in three versions: Standard, Telephoto, and Waterproof. The Standard Version includes A329S 1CH, A329S 2CH, A329S 2CH IR and A329S 3CH. The Telephoto Version includes A329T 2CH, A329T 3CH and A329TW 3CH. The Waterproof Version includes A329SW 2CH, A329SW 3CH and A329WW 3CH.
A: Yes, we recommend the A329WW 3CH for trucks. It comes with two waterproof rear cameras and offers multiple cable length options(3M/8M/10M/15M). The cameras can be installed under the side mirrors, at the rear, or in any other preferred position, making it ideal for larger vehicles like trucks.
A: Yes, the GPS module can be used with both the A329 and A329S.
A: A329S supports up to 512GB MicroSD cards. VIOFO original cards are recommended.
A: Use the HK4/HK6 hardwire kit to enable automatic parking mode (supports low power impact detection, hybrid parking recording, time-lapse, low bitrate, and auto event detection). To enable Cut-off Voltage function, you need to use HK6 hardwire kit.
A: Loop recording automatically overwrites old files. Locked/event videos are protected and won’t be overwritten.
A: The main difference between the A329S, A329T and A329SW is the firmware version. Each model runs a firmware optimized for its specific configuration and features.
A: It’s upgraded to 2K resolution for clearer in-cabin footage, with a 210° ultra wide-angle lens that captures both the interior and outside, reducing blind spots.
A: The PSSD connects to the Type-C port on the side of the main unit, while the power is supplied through the Type-C port on the GPS mount. This allows both to be used simultaneously without interference.
A: No, the waterproof rear camera from the A229 Pro is not compatible with the A329S.
A: Yes, you can. You just need to upgrade the firmware to the A329T version.
A: No, the A229 Pro rear camera cable is not compatible with the A329S. You must use the original rear cable for A329S.
A: The dashcams do not support automatic Wi-Fi connections to cellphones. You can modify the Wi-Fi settings to remember the connection. Once the dashcam’s Wi-Fi is turned on, you can manually click to connect to the dashcam.
A: Currently, there are three separate firmware versions: A329S and A329SW use the same firmware. A329T and A329TW share another firmware version. A329WW uses its own dedicated firmware.
A: The HK6 supports both Cut-off Voltage and Cut-off Time features, the HK4 only supports Cut-off Time feature.
A: No. When the voltage drops to the Cut-off voltage you set in the hybrid parking recording, the camera will switch from normal parking mode (time-lapse, low bitrate, or event detection) to low power impact detection. When the voltage reaches to the voltage value you set on the hardwire kit, the hardwire kit will cut off supply and the camera will shut down.
We recommend setting the cut-off voltage value higher than the value set on the hardwire kit.
A: Our dashcams undergo rigorous high-temperature testing and are designed to operate safely within a range of -20°C to 65°C. The camera also includes a temperature sensor to continuously monitor its internal temperature. If the temperature becomes too high, the dashcam will automatically shut down to protect itself from damage.
A: In this mode, the camera stays in low-power standby. When an impact is detected, it will automatically start recording within 2 seconds for 1 minute. If movement is detected during that time, the recording will be extended for up to 3 minutes.
A: CPL filters are not needed for the fisheye camera or the waterproof camera.
