A229 Plus comes with cutting-edge dual cameras that deploy Sony’s latest STARVIS 2 technology, supporting upgraded 2K Quad HD recording for front and rear view. It delivers excellent video quality, capturing every detail all day and night.
A229 Plus is the industry’s first dashcam using two Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 image sensors which offer 2.5 times wider dynamic range and higher light sensitivity than the STARVIS tech, bringing much less noise and motion blur during day & night recording.
The rear camera records in upgraded 2K resolution with Sony STARVIS 2 1/2.8” 5MP image sensor, which takes rear recording to the next level. The sensor features an impressive 2.5 times wider dynamic range than the STARVIS pixel of the same size, capturing exceptionally clear and sharp videos during daytime and nighttime recording.
The interior camera leverages Sony STARVIS IMX307 sensor and advanced HDR technology, clearly capturing the entire cabin scene without overexposure. With a built-in IR light sensor, the camera automatically activates its 4 infrared LED lights when it detects low light conditions in the car cabin, enabling to record sharp black and white image details even in complete darkness.
A229 Plus is outstanding in a wide range of lighting conditions, by virtue of the dual Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensors. Every captured footage is enhanced with a wider dynamic range to reveal more details in highlights and shadows. These flagship sensors, coupled with advanced HDR technology, balance extremely bright and dark areas to accurately restore 2K details recorded at night, even captures accurate license details in fast move from both front and rear recording.
A229 Pro comes with an advanced voice control feature, which allows you to start/stop recording, take photos, and turn on/off WiFi with simple spoken commands in multiple languages (English/Chinese/Russian/Japanese). It can also clearly notifies you of settings changes or memory card errors, keeping you fully focused on the road.
An upgraded 5GHz Wi-Fi connection module is built into A229 Plus to provide much faster Wi-Fi data transfer, ensuring smooth video previewing, downloading and sharing.
The dashcam supports seamless connectivity to your smartphone via a USB2.0 Type-C to Type-C data cable, enabling superfast downloads of photos and videos. Specifically, the download speed is up to 20MB/s on iPhone 15. This direct connection also facilitates effortless firmware updates, ensuring access to the latest features and optimal performance.

Dashcams require a memory card that can withstand heavy writing cycles. A high-endurance card, designed especially for heavy use and write-intensive applications, is extremely critical for dash cam recording. Q: What is the difference between the A229 Plus 3 channel and A229 Pro 3 Channel
A: The Pro 3CH records 4K front + 2K rear + 1080P interior. The Plus 3CH records 2K front + 2K rear + 1080P interior. Both share the same rear and interior cameras. The key difference is the front sensor: Pro uses the larger IMX678 (4K capable), Plus uses the IMX675 (2K). If 2K front resolution is sufficient, the Plus 3CH saves money while providing identical rear and interior quality.
Q: Does the interior IR camera work in pitch black?.
A: Yes. The IR LEDs activate automatically when ambient light drops, switching to a high-contrast black-and-white mode that captures cabin details clearly even with zero light. Passengers typically cannot see the IR illumination, so there is no distraction or intrusion.
Q: What resolution does each camera record at?
A: Front: 2K (2560×1440) at 30fps with HDR. Rear: 2K (2560×1440) at 30fps with HDR. Interior: 1080P (1920×1080) at 30fps with HDR and IR night vision. All three channels record simultaneously.

A: A 256GB microSD card provides approximately 14–18 hours of 3-channel recording before loop overwriting. For full-shift rideshare driving, a 512GB card (maximum supported) extends this to roughly 28–36 hours. No card included — purchase a high-endurance card separately.
Q: Can I swap the rear camera for a telephoto or watrproof camera?
A: Yes. The A229 Plus is modular. You can replace the standard rear camera with the RTC300 telephoto (2K, 4× zoom) or RWC200 waterproof rear camera (2K, IP67). This flexibility lets you customize the system for your specific use case without changing the front unit or firmware.
