The camera records in remarkable 4K with Sony STARVIS 2 1/1.8″ 8MP image sensor that packs in more pixels for greater clarity and detail, even in low light. The sensor provides a wider dynamic range in a single exposure than the STARVIS and supports 4K HDR tech, bringing low noise, eliminating motion blur, and revealing more details.
A229 Pro is outstanding in a wide range of lighting conditions, by virtue of Sony STARVIS 2 tech. The flagship sensor, coupled with advanced HDR technology, balances extremely bright and dark areas to accurately restore 4K details recorded at night, even captures accurate license details in fast move.
An upgraded 5GHz Wi-Fi connection module is built into A229 Pro to provide much faster Wi-Fi data transfer, ensuring smooth video previewing, downloading and sharing.
The dashcam supports seamless connectivity to your smartphone via a USB2.0 Type-C to Type-C data cable, enabling super-fast downloads of photos and videos. Specifically, the download speed is up to 20MB/s on iPhone 16. This direct connection also facilitates effortless firmware updates, ensuring access to the latest features and optimal performance.
Note: Please use a USB2.0 Type-C to Type-C data cable and ensure that your phone supports an output of 5V2A. This data transfer method is compatible with the iPhone 15/16 series and newer versions of Android smartphones.
A229 Pro comes with an advanced voice control feature, which allows you to start recording, take photos, and turn on/off Wi-Fi with simple spoken commands in multiple languages (English/Chinese/Russian/Japanese). It can also clearly notify you of settings changes or memory card errors, keeping you fully focused on the road.

A229 Pro supports seamless loop recording and overwrites the oldest videos with the latest ones. With the built-in G-sensor, the dashcam will automatically lock the footage in case of collision or crash, recreating the accident scene for your peace of mind.
A CPL (Circular Polarizing Lens) filter can be used to reduce reflections and glare off glass and road surfaces, bringing significantly improved image clarity and contrast.
The Bluetooth remote control can be positioned in a convenient location for safe and easy use while driving. Pressing the middle button will instantly protect current video clip and image. The two buttons on the side can be customized to set different functions.

Q: Why choose the A229 Pro 1 Channel over the 2 Channel
A: The 1CH is ideal if you want the best possible 4K front camera at a lower entry price, with the option to add rear and interior cameras later. The front unit is identical in both, same 4K IMX678 sensor, 5GHz Wi-Fi, GPS, voice control, and CPL filter. If you know you want rear coverage from day one, the 2CH bundle saves money versus buying the rear camera separately later.
Q: Can I add a rear camera to the A229 Pro 1 Channel
A: Yes. You can add the standard rear camera, the RTC300 telephoto camera, or the RWC200 waterproof rear camera at any time. Simply connect the additional camera to the front unit, it is detected automatically with no firmware changes required.
Q: Is the A229 Pro 1 Channel the same sensor as the Wirecutter-recommended model?
A: Yes. The A229 Pro 1CH uses the exact same Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 front sensor as the A229 Pro 2CH that Wirecutter named ‘The Best Dash Cam.’ You get identical 4K image quality, HDR processing, and low-light performance.
Q: Does the 1 Channel support 30fps at 4K?
A: Yes. The A229 Pro 1CH records at 4K 30fps with HDR enabled. As a single-channel system, the processor is fully dedicated to the front camera, ensuring smooth, consistent performance.
Q: What storage do I ned for a front-only setup?
A: A 128GB microSD card provides approximately 8-10 hours of continuous 4K single-channel recording before loop overwriting begins. A 256GB card doubles this to roughly 16-20 hours. For most daily commuters, 128-256GB is sufficient. The A229 Pro supports cards up to 512GB. No card is included, purchase a high-endurance card separately.
Q: Is the CPL filter included withthe 1 Channel model?
A: Yes. All A229 Pro models (1CH, 2CH, 3CH) include a press-on CPL filter for the front camera in the box. The CPL reduces dashboard reflections and windshield glare for cleaner footage.
